MUSIC MANIA

Live music is an experience like no other. I chose to embody albums and capture the exact sound, thoughts and feelings that came across from listening. The following is an assortment of multiple individual projects and studies each protruding their own visceral sonic embodiment.
PETALS FOR ARMOR- HAYLEY WILLIAMS
Released in Spring of 2020, this alternative/indie album is raw, honest and unapologetic. The artist’s journey of self deprecation, acceptance and finding femininity within yourself resonated deeply with me. I wanted to embody the open nature and uncomfortable and clumsy journey of coming into your own through images. I created an LP vinyl packaging and cover for this album.

UNPEELED- CAGE THE ELEPHANT
Released in 2017 as their second live release, this album covers their greatest hits and covers. The band explores the perils of fame, emotional distress, abuse, manic and the dark sides of society. With such heavy taboo subjects and lyrics, I chose to embody a cryptic, illegal, and almost cursed concept for this piece.

THE AFTER LAUGHTER SUMMER TOUR- PARAMORE
The album After Laughter from Paramore holds a depressing tone speaking on being “Fake Happy” and inner turmoil issues of how they aren’t expressed beyond our minds and putting on a mask. I chose to turn this into a motif of a smiling face on a disdained face. I brought in a collage element with some watercolor overlaying the illustration. The band themselves are following a bit of a ‘new age’ wave in music so I wanted to make it look ‘out there’ to commemorate that movement. I made this into an entire tour experience including merchandise, tickets, IDs and passes.

THE NIGHT RUNNING TOUR- BECK & CAGE THE ELEPHANT
Cage the Elephant’s latest album was my favorite to date. I felt it was very mysterious and wicked in a way like no other. I wanted to capture that sinister yet scared aura into the piece. Also, to pay homage to how well known the band and their tour partner was I followed the style of an old, rock band tee to create an effortless yet eye catching design to honor all their work.
